A Boeing 777-200 plane’s engine malfunctioned, forcing the plane to return to Denver International airport. The plane was part of the United Airlines fleet. It suffered a “right-engine failure shortly after takeoff”, scattering some debris in its wake. Most of the debris was concentrated in Broomfield, a Denver suburb. According to officials there are currently no injuries due to debris, and all the passengers returned safely as well. Authorities have opened an investigation of the incident, and Boeing representatives have said they will fully cooperate. This plane and engine model is primarily used in Japan, South Korea and the United States, and most of them have been grounded. The incident may spiral into further criticism of Boeing, which is still recovering from other scandals, including the 737 Max crashes which left 346 people dead.
