After months of warnings from Twitter for going against community guidelines and spreading false information, Donald Trump’s Twitter account finally got permanently banned on Friday. The official statement following the ban was published on Twitter’s blog stating that it was to “[prevent the] risk of further incitement of violence”. It was initially a temporary ban after Trump was seen spreading false information about the US Presidential Election but soon after he posted a tweet that appeared to encourage the violent protesters, the ban turned permanent.

Twitter had also created special policies for world leaders just to curb the president’s reckless tweeting. The “Violent Threats Policy” on Twitter states that anyone who threatens violence against a group or an individual would face similar consequences. Trump's tweets were a reflection of his dangerous ideals and often filled with misinformation to support his cause. Twitter had flagged his tweets multiple times due to displays of sexism, racism, indecency, glorification of violence, - the list goes on. With this permanent ban, the long battle that has been fought by Twitter and Trump has finally come to an end.
